A Fashionably Fabulous Very Vintage Tea Party
A few weeks ago I was approached by Gina from
Secrets Unearthed Jewellery Design
to assist in putting together the collaboration of the season, a very vintage fashionably fun tea party photo shoot. With much anticipation I got started with the challenge. As my first collaboration of this nature, I can only say ‘It all happened perfectly’.
With the likes of
MayaPrass’
gorgous new Summer collection (soon to be available at Woolworths and their other outlets) which is being released at the end of October 2011, Maya kindly offered to let us feature her classy ‘Lilypad’ Wrapdress (which I love), ‘Peaches and Cream’ (the pastel blue), ‘Happy Things’ dress (worn by Colleen, and possibly my favourite with the contrasting bows at the shoulder), and Gina in the ‘Little Darling’ dress.
Maya is proud of the fact that her line offers a gorgeous, feminine alternative to the mass-produced looks of the season. As she says: If commercial trends are the main road, I’m on the side walk. She keeps her lines as fun and colourful as their beautiful studio in Woodstock.
A highly compatible and suitable companion to Gina Prins’s equally stunning, unique hand crafted jewellery range,
Secret’s Unearthed Jewellery Design
Besides stocking JinJin Jewellery, Sitting Pretty and Mythology, you’ll soon find her first-class line of jewellery displayed at the Vineyard hotel and Cape Grace. Her ethos runs on a similar line of contemplation to Maya’s. Her masterful jewels adorned the girls from top to toe. How can one not feel like a princess in these fabulous designs?
Then my article ‘Gentlemen take note, romance doesn’t get better than this‘ was certainly on the right track and now I have the proof. We were blessed with the wonderful romantic authenticity of dial-a-picnic. Have you ever seen such terrific crockery? Pretty little things. I loved the touch of class that
Dial-a-Picnic
brought to the scene. If you are planning something special with a loved one, a wedding or perhaps a corporate affair, why not consider a picnic? All the cool kids are doing it.
Then we had Colleen Van Rensburg from
Colleen-does-Makeup
making sure our models looked beautiful, and she even jumped in herself. Isn’t she simply phenomenal? Considering that she literally had only 1 hour to assist everybody with their make up, including her own, her work was incredible. Check out her latest professional make-up magic here or click here to become a fan on Facebook.
This lady has some amazing talent going on, as recognised by so many magazines, including Shape, Natural Medicine Magazine, Fancourt and Foshini, to name a few. She is multi-talented and besides commercial work, she also does wedding make up (guess who is doing the make-up at my wedding), beauty and fashion.
I also have to give a big thank you to Caralee Mc Laughin from
CaraLeePhotography
, Caralee specialises in wedding photography and came to our rescue at the last-minute. Our previous photographer had bailed one week before the shoot due to personal reasons. Personally I believe everything happens for a reason, and am ecstatic about the results Cara has given us. She was professional and coaxed the ladies into the broadest smiles possible, without a challenge.
Love the hats and umbrella’s? I did too, you can find them at the
Cat’s Meow
, based in Woodstock. They are my favourite vintage store in the Mutha city.
Cape Town’s ladies have incredible talent and I know I have just barely touched the surface, so if you are interested in doing a collaboration with
