Last weekends DIY project
For months I have looked at our old outside table and thought, ‘Don’t worry table, Mutha will come to the rescue, soon’. Not getting around to it though, left me feeling terribly guilty about the poor things state of shabbiness.
What I love most about this personal blogging deal, is that it has given me the incentive to actually get around to things that I don’t generally get around too. It’s one the most powerful affirmation tools I have ever invested in. So this weekend I finally got to rescuing the table, planting some new herbs and making my friend a very cool leather and bead wrap bracelet for her birthday.
- Before
- The varnish was peeling off
- Poor old thing
- After being sanded down and revarnished
- Bringing this old table back to life was tremendous fun
- The last time it looked this good.. was probably never
Loving the new look on this old friend. If this table could talk I’m sure it would be singing my praises. Simply for the sake of affirmation, I can’t wait for the next project, planting the bamboo I brought recently. Getting creative with dirt is another favourite pastime of mine. Although I’m no longer sporting the massive garden we had at our previous place ( to be honest, glad to not have to deal with the chore it became), I’m loving the feeling of being excited about gardening again. What’s on your DIY waiting list? Share, Affirm and I promise it’ll get done. Happy DIY-ing yummy mummies.

Last weekends DIY project – Muthablogga | Muthablogga…
I have a dressing table for Kidlet on my patio waiting to revamped too but need to do a beetle treatment first. I got it second hand and when I got home noticed the little holes so don’t want to start anything before I’ve treated it. Have you ever done that French Antiquing before? I read a bit about it and think I might be in over my head.
Ouch, I’m not too clued up on beetle treatments but will do some research for you. Worst project I ever took on was one of those old metal filing cabinets, seemed easy enough strip the paint, and respray.. 6 weeks later I was still paint-stripping and filing off the rust i found under the million layers of paint. Looking good now though. I mean if I can reupholster my own chairs, I am sure I can help you find a solution. Will let you know what I find.
